1	THIS IS THE EARLIEST KNOWN RECORD OF A PURFÜRST FAMILY. Johann and Elizabeth (Gruber) Purfürst, Kauschwitz, Germany. NOTE: the following calculations are based on actual parish record comments, dated 1664, on file at the city archives in Plauen, Germany. Elisabeth was "age 94" when she died on March 13, 1664 thus she was born in 1570 Elisabeth was "16 years old" when she married thus she and Johann married in 1585. Elisabeth had been a "widow for 53 years" thus Johann died in 1611 Johann would be estimated as 20 years old when he married (of age) thus he was born about 1565. Elisabeth gave "birth to 11 children: 4 sons (of which 2 survived) and 7 daughters (of which 6 survived) ". All individuals throughout time and throughout the world who possess the surname of Purfürst or any of its variations of Purfurst, Purfuerst and Purfeerst are considered to be descendants of Johann Christoph and Elisabeth (Gruber) Purfürst.
